This summer I am going to have the amazing opportunity to live in my favorite city in the entire world for 2 months! I have dreamed of working and going to school in London since my first visit to the city when I was 8 years old. No words can describe how excited I am about this adventure! I am visiting London at one of the best, and craziest times. My adventure will start just in time to take part in the final days of celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and conclude with the first days of the Summer Olympics. Between these two historic events I will be busy with taking one class, writing an extensive research paper, and what I consider the most exciting aspect- an internship! I know that this summer will challenge me and I am excited for every challenge that comes my way because I know that it will help me grow as a person. Side note, kinda of: I will also be celebrating my 20th birthday :)
Okay, so here is the reason for creating a blog. The past two years I have taken part in an organization called Books and Beyond through my university. Its goal is to help promote English fluency in Rwanda. Last summer I was chosen as a student representative to travel to Rwanda for two weeks. One of the requirements was that I had to keep a journal throughout the trip so that once I returned to America I would be able to write a blog to share my experiences. I was so happy that it was a requirement because it was a great way to share all of the amazing things that I experienced with family and friends. So when I was thinking about my trip this summer I thought that a blog would be a perfect way to share my experience with all of my friends and family. So, that’s basically it.
